Every new year I try to think of a list of things I can do to improve myself as a person. Some I stick with, others I don't. You always say that you will stay true to your New Year resolutions, but most of us fall short. But setting goals help to get you in the mindset to achieve more.

stay organized
take time to de-stress
try not to worry so much
live life to the fullest
pamper myself
save my money
get most of my wedding planned
eat healthier
try new things
give 100% all the time
make more friends
exercise more
 make straight A's
love my fiance even more

I wish I could stick to every single one of these, but I'd be fine with just a few of them! I am excited for the new year and what it holds for me!

reading lists

Anyone who knows me knows I have an undying love for books. I have so many books I want to read before I die, I don't even know if I can make time for all of them! I tend to go for fantasy books with a little bit of a love story in the background. Here is a very short list of the books I need to read as of right now:

1. Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
"The Kite Runner is a novel about friendship, betrayal, and the price of loyalty. It is about the bonds between fathers and sons, and the power of their lies. Written against a history that has not been told in fiction before, The Kite Runner describes the rich culture and beauty of a land in the process of being destroyed. But with the devastation, Khaled Hosseini also gives us hope: through the novel's faith in the power of reading and storytelling, and in the possibilities he shows for redemption."

2. Maze Runner Trilogy by James Dashner
"When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his first name. His memory is blank. But he’s not alone. When the lift’s doors open, Thomas finds himself surrounded by kids who welcome him to the Glade—a large, open expanse surrounded by stone walls."

3. Divergent & Insurgent by Veronica Roth
"In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself."

4. Crossed & Reached by Ally Condie
These are the last two books in her trilogy. I read the first one over the summer and have not been TOO pushed to pick these up immediately after finishing the first one but I do want to finish them. I simply cannot start a good series and not finish them. The first one (which I will go into more detail later) was good, not the best, but it did keep my interest the whole way through. I still recommend this series.

But thanks to constant begging from my fiance & a week long movie marathon....
The Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling
Yes, I hate to admit that I have never actually read any of the famous Harry Potter books. Call me crazy, but they never interested me. But after watching all of the incredible movies with my fantastic one-of-a-kind fiance (his choice of words), I just couldn't resist starting on these books as soon as possible! Guess I know how I will be spending my free time this Christmas break!

1. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette - I have heard so many amazing things about this eye shadow palette & it is very high up on my Christmas list this year! No glitter bombs & I bet I'll never have to buy eyeshadow ever again!

2. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Light Concealer - The bags under my eyes are just ridiculous no matter how much sleep I get every night, but with this stuff my eyes look bright and alive!

3. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream -I haven't tried this stuff either, BUT I have heard some incredible stuff about BBs creams that I know I will have to try it ASAP!

4. Clinique Bottom Lash MascaraMy chapter director so kindly recommended bottom lash mascara to me because I have teeny tiny baby eyelashes on both top and bottom & this stuff really seems to do the trick! With a tiny little brush, you can get those pesky bottom lashes!

5. Hoola Bronzer - This stuff makes you look sun-kissed but not cakey! Doesn't clog your pores and adds just the right hint of sparkle!

6. Maybelline Baby Lips Lipbalm -I can't get enough of this lip balm! I want every shade. Plus, its only $2.99!

7. Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush - My blush used to fade away within a couple hours but with the bouncy blush my cheeks have a healthy rosey pink hue all day long!

8. Rimmel London  Lash Accelerating Mascara - I basically have no eye lashes but when I use this mascara, it adds so much length and volume!

9. Urban Decay XL All Nighter  Makeup Setting SprayMy make up used to just magically disappear and smear through out my long days of class and chapter meetings, but with this miracle working stuff if stays fresh looking and shine free all day long!

10. Urban Eyeshadow Primer Potion - I also used to have trouble with my eye shadow smearing, but since the discovery of this potion I have no more troubles!

I am not the biggest fan of wearing a lot of makeup nor do I know a whole lot about it so these are just a few things that I use and love or have heard wondrous things about!

sisterhood

As you all know, I am a part of the Greek community and wouldn't trade my experiences for the world! Delta Zeta means so much to me and this weekend reminded me of how much each and every one of my sisters mean to me.

This past Friday, we a group of us went over to our wonderful President's house and had a little Christmas baking party and movie marathon. At least....had all intentions of a movie marathon. When you get 15+ girls in a small apartment living room it's hard to keep quiet long enough to watch a movie.

Despite the fact that no movie was watched, we all still had a blast catching up and talking with our sisters in a non-business meeting setting! However, we did stuff our faces with the goodies we baked!

We made chocolate and Christmas sprinkle covered pretzels, Hershey kissed pretzels, and some very tasty puppy chow!

Another great sisterhood event is an evening enjoying some pottery painting! I loved getting to see all of my sisters' creative (and not so creative) side! Our sisterhood decided to go to a place called Mug Me on the Dahlonega Square & absolutely loved the laid-back atmosphere and friendly help!

My Little & me with our masterpieces

The plate for my mommy...complete with monogram

The moral of the story is.....sisterhood events don't have to be expensive or complicated, just fun! Sharing a bond as great as the one I share with each of my sisters warms my heart every time I think about it! These are times I will always treasure.

What does YOUR sisterhood do for bonding time?
Since my daddy insists on shoving the video camera in everyone's faces early on Christmas morning, I might as well have a cute pair of jammies! Here are some of my absolute faves this year!

steal: American Eagle // obsession: Target // splurge: J. Crew

What are YOUR fave jammies to wear on Christmas morning?

Oh and I also stumbled across a great giveaway being hosted by Miss Southern Prep! She has partnered up with Kayce Hughes to give away a great holiday party dress! HOW FABULOUS IS THAT!?
